It is 12 weeks and 4 days until we depart for balmy Puerto Rico! During our time in Puerto Rico our 14-person team will be spending our mornings teaching VBS, offering the students (ages 5-25) Bible classes, crafts, games, music, drama, etc. After lunch each day, we will be taking the students on an afternoon excursion to a local attraction (rainforest, beach, etc.) to bond with them. Our evenings will be spent interacting with and supervising a number of the deaf students who will be residing in the school’s dormitory for the week, as well as preparing for our next day’s classes. Along with offering the activities listed above, some members of our team will be involved in several maintenance projects around the school.
Currently we are busy gathering supplies for VBS, assigning duties amongst the team and raising support via support letters and fundraisers. But our airline tickets have recently been ordered! (Yay!!) And PR is one step closer to being a reality!
