Yay!

We are here in Luquillo, Puerto Rico!  What an exciting adventure....  God has certainly been at work and we have seen His amazing protection demonstrated over and over again from the time we entered the terminal yesterday morning until this very moment!
We arrived at the airport early and saw the terminal filled with people and a HUGE line.  How on earth could we ever get ALL of our bags checked and through security in time to make our flight?  God provided a friendly officer who assisted us in getting our bags through security in record time and we boarded the plane with lots of time to spare!
The flight was great and lasted four hours--I am so great-full to my team member gave up her window seat for me.  While many of my team members slept, I simply couldn't and opted to stay awake; during that time I sat with my forehead stuck to the window, gazing at the expanse of water and land below.  (My first flight was indeed a success!)  We landed in Puerto Rico with all of our luggage and met up with our group.
Its very hot and humid here, but not as warm as I anticipated.  Despite the heat, the beauty of the island is incredible...Palm trees are everywhere and what little grass there is, is very dry and sparse.  Beautiful flowers of every color, growing both on the ground and on many trees, splash the forests with vibrant colors.  We have seen many animals just in the one day that we've been here--Cows that look different from the  cows back home, many stray dogs that roam the street, birds of many colors and varieties, a lizard that most everyone but me saw, a toad, and several beautiful little horses that trotted along the beach with their riders.  The coconuts are not yet ripe, but are seen hanging on almost every tree.  The water is clear and blue and the sand is surprisingly fine (not course like the sand on the beaches at home).  The people here are nice, but it seems funny/different to me to be looked upon as an outsider.  The natives drive like crazy-people who seem to make up their own rules for driving--We were cruising down a scenic road on our way from the airport yesterday afternoon and suddenly several people just began backing out of their driveway, forcing us to slam on the brakes and stop for them.  Last night we were on our way to the beach and we stopped at a stop-light.  When the light turned green, a car in the right turning lane gunned it and turned left!  We were going straight and almost broad-sided them--missing them by near inches!  I was once again reminded of God's protection and of all of you who are praying for us!  (Thanks and keep it up...who knows what may have happened!)
So anyway, we all went to the beach last night at dusk and were pleasantly surprised at the warmth of the water--it was at least eighty-five degrees and felt like bathwater!  (It was absolutely wonderful!)
     Tonight we're going to the bio-luminescent bay...I can't wait!

Please pray for several members of our team who are presently struggling physically with head-colds, etc.  The children come
